Good, another one bites the dust. I bet all those 'business' types are thrashing around wondering what to do next. How much is the plate value in Warrington? Or should I say: How much was the plate value in Warrington? 
I wonder how long it will be before they pull the plug down in 187ums neck of the woods.

This has been known (unofficially) for the last 9 months. The simple thing to do is when the plate is due for renewal license it as a Hac and stay on a PH system. That way you can work all day instead of sitting on a rank for hours for a 5 quid fare, but be able to take a flag legally whenever you see one. There's one person i know of who stands to lose a good wedge, and it couldnt happen to a nicer bloke. |

This may be a really stupid question, but could someone please answer it for me? Why is it that in some areas you see plate numbers way above the limit? For example, in Warrington where there is a limit of 87, why do you see cabs with plate numbers as high as 930, which I saw earlier today? |

(warrington have 140 ish hacks) local authorities have the right to restrict numbers or not as they see fit, over the years some la's have derestricted some have not, hence the variation in numbers in different areas. political dogma will usually determine most authories stance on derestriction |

I think some councils have different start numbers for WAV than saloons, and different start numbers for 6/7/8 seaters. Quite why I'm not sure, but hey ho.

the normal numbers can go on cars or cabs/ euros etc aslong as there black or white the 900 ones have extra conditions on e.g have to be wav, under 3 years old etc and these have been given out over the past few years (15 last year 15 year before and a few2002/3) to get on wav cabs on the streets and if the 900 plates are transfered they can only go on a wav but the normal numbers (001 to 110) can go on either (for the time being) |
