And what about all those disabled who cannot get into any of the LTI cabs, and all those that prefer saloons.
What about all us owners who cannot afford to replace our saloons with anything but, as most wav's are over priced

I would hope that Radar have told the MPs this, but maybe it will be a case of if they can't get into a WAV, then they call for a PH. 8-[

For what it's worth you can get the TW thing from Patons for just over £20,000.

Still bundles, but getting nearer and nearer to the prices of the saloons.

An Early Day Motion is a motion put down that calls for a debate on a particular subject.

EDMs very rarely get debated and their true modern purpose is to enable MPs to draw attention to an issue and to canvass support for their views by inviting other Members to add their signatures in support of the motion.

In other words, this is a ploy to highlight a particular issue. Although Sussex did an excellent job of finding it, I wouldn't let it go to any of your heads.

So are you saying that in the future the whole European cab trade is going to be driving around in only Eurobuses and FX,s?

If the Euro do gooders get their way it will be this or something very similar, maybe the odd merc mixed in as they are the super power of the Euro world!

Oh did i mention Merc are negotiating to buy the testing side from VOSA ?

That,ll be interesting, vehicle testing and safety in the hands of a motor manufacturer. Chrysler Mercedes!

Nope, you never mentioned that but you have now, so I'm sure it will get a few responses.

Perhaps you care to post the url of the EC directive you mentioned, I'm sure it would make interesting reading.

Okee dokee Mr JD , i cannot post the EC directive BUT i can get the relevant Directive number once its vilafied. What i will do however is speak to my friend with a large Taxi op in the midlands who is extremely forward with his research , to the point where he has just sold and replaced a fair portion of his fleet with Eurobuses.

He will give me the relevant details which i will place on here for your avid readers.
From memory some of the regs become enforceable in 2010 and others come shortly after but i will check tomorrow and let you know without fail.

As you know this is not my chosen area of expertise but i do keep an eye on these things as its all relevant.

My father was a taxi driver, my uncle was a taxi driver.
Both have had cancer (father had stomach, uncle has brain for the SECOND time and is recovering, my best friend is mentioned above , so im not anti taxi , quite the opposite!) Taxi drivers are pretty tough cookies it would seem:D

(my attention is diverted elsewhere at the moment as you may have guessed    )

The VOSA ,merc, buyout is actually on their site albeit sketchy, i however speak to certain peeps within VOSA who are not happy with this situation and are in positions to protest and be heard .

Trouble is the man at the top does,nt seem to concerned about it all and sees it as progress???????

Sussex we don't all work in city's where there is a greater earning potential, you should try working in the borders where £50 is a good day and that's a sat so a saloon is the only option and second hand at that

Its all to do with the fact you cant fit wheelchairs in a saloon!

Having just spoken to my friend on the phone ,he is digging out the info.

But the general gist is that every LA will have to have a percentage of wheelchair accessable vehicles available through its PH community , at the moment the percentage is quite low, but the Euro Tree Hugging Do Gooders are pushing for all PH vehicles to meet the full criteria!

I will post as much as i can find out but between running 3 businesses, the limousine legislation , Negotiating a specific system with the powers that be, corelating data with VOSA which i have to get from the states, helping promote and push the limousines associations forward, guiding new limo ops through the minefield of inadequate and confusing legislation, helping out the Hotrod community (yes i have 1 and have built around 30 , the latter of which have all passed ESVA,s,) advising U.S coachbuilders on correct construction of limousines bound for the UK and EUROPE so as not to be refused registration, spending time with my wife and children, and relaxing (that last bit is just a dream  )

You must keep an eye on Europe folks its a devious creature with many faces , its just keeps churning out garbage that never has and never will suit the englishman , we are not europeans , we dont have a similar lifestyle , upbringing or even social structure!!!

It has many secrets and can stifle info if you dont go looking hard for it!!!

I'm on your side fella, but I think this drip drip approach will in time mean 100% WAVs in most areas.

Of course the DDA did give the option for a council to ask for an opt-out, so maybe that will be the saviour of many rural areas.

Not too sure the big cities and towns will get a chance though.
