A cabbie was shot in the head by a passenger early saturday morning, after a row about a fare. The 55 year old guy collected two men ,and two women from a nightclub in glasgow. At arriving in upper market bearsden there was a dispute over the fare. One of the guys got out and kicked the taxi. The driver got out to stop him kicking it again, the accused ran towards the house, were he came back out with an air rifle, and shot the driver in the head. The two women said they just met the guys and ran away in terror from the scene. Neigbours awoke with the noise at 4.15 am. They said the house was rented by guys in there 20s. Five police cars arrived soon after but the accused got away. Police are still hunting the gunman. The taxi driver was treated for head injury and released after treatment. BUT I BET THE ACCUSED COULD BE IDENTFIED IF WE HAD CCTV IN WERE CABS. SCOTTISH LICENCING COUNCIL.

I think the police will catch the scumbag.

Your CCTV is very valid, and let's hope those councils who don't allow it, bloody well wake up and allow it now.

Not when a few more taxi/PH drivers are added to the dead list.

What are these councils objections to having CCTV in cabs?

They have them on the streets in shops, bars, busses just about everywhere but they are not allowed in the one place where you can easily be assulted.

The world has gone mad!

Is Asda open yet?
