June 11, 2007 Monday Sutton Guardian Bogus Taxi driver attacks girl A 19-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted after she accepted a lift from a bogus taxi driver. The woman, who was on her way home, was picked up by her attacker at a bus stop in Burleigh Road, Sutton. The driver said the woman's friend had told him she was looking for a cab. He then drove her to a car park by the Nonsuch Park Hotel in London Road where he attacked her early on April 14. The man, described as white, aged over 45, 5ft 9in and of average build, had been driving a red Toyota car. He had straight grey collar-length hair and long sideburns. He also spoke with a London accent. The four door saloon with a grey interior had an R-registration.
