Woman injured in paint-ball attack;
REDDITCH
A WOMAN was left bruised and splattered after she was shot with a paint-ball gun as she walked along the road in Redditch.
The 22-year-old woman was walking along Evesham Road, on Friday, June 8, between 11pm and midnight when she was hit by the pellet.
She was almost level with the White Hart pub when she saw a taxi heading towards her.
The vehicle slowed and she then felt a sharp pain in her stomach and realised that the driver had shot at her with a paint-ball gun.
The taxi, which had no passengers at the time, then drove off at speed.
The driver was a middleaged Asian man and his taxi was said to be green.
PC Samantha Moore from Redditch police said police are taking the matter extremely seriously.
"This has been a distressing incident for the victim.
"We are treating this as assault and would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident itself or noticed a green taxi heading along Evesham Road to give police a call."
