Street assault on taxi driver
A TAXI driver was assaulted while sitting in his cab in a Bridlington street.
A man approached the 57 year-old's cab, which was parked in Nelson Street at around 9pm last night, and became verbally abusive to the driver's passengers.
The man attempted to open the taxi door, at which the driver stepped out of the cab.
At this, the offender began abusing the driver, and struck him around the face twice, causing him reddening to his face, before fleeing.
The man was white, around 5ft6ins tall, of broad build and with short, dark hair, wearing a blue and white top and blue trousers.
Anybody who thinks they might recognise the man, or who was in the area at the time and may have any information, should contact Bridlington Police on 0845 60 60 222, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 690 of June 13.
