HEADLINE: Chinese happy to hail Coventry cab

Black cab-maker Manganese Bronze has secured regulatory approval in China for its pounds 53 million joint venture operation with Geeley Automobile Holdings to produce the London taxi, a limousine and two large saloon cars, in Shanghai.

The company, which owns London Taxis International at Coventry, said it had made applications for 5.7 million shares to be issued to Linkstate Overseas, a unit of Geely to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange.

Managese Bronze said the shares were subject to certain lock-in deals.
