Taxi cash error
On august 10 you gave brilliant coverage to the funeral of taxi driver Dave 'Tazman' Reed. I was asked to give a little comment about my friend Dave, and due to a genuine mistake have caused a bit of a problem for the Hackney Carriage Association and Mrs Reed.
I told your reporter £1,000 was raised for Macmillan Nurses; the reason I said this is because on the shop window of O'Brien's coffee shop opposite the taxi rank in Raleigh Street was a written quote thanking taxi drivers for raising £1,000 for the nurses. I, along with others, genuinely thought that was through us, but I was mistaken and it had nothing to do with Tazman's collection and was not organised by that hackney organisation.
