Birmingham Evening Mail September 3, 2007, Monday Taxi man attack A TAXI driver was attacked by a passenger who tried to rob him. The 35-year-old driver picked up four men in Yardley at 1.20am yesterday and was asked to take them to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. During the journey the driver was forced to pull over in Greenhill Lane, Selly Oak. One of the passengers ordered the driver to hand over his takings. When he refused, the off ender punched him. The victim managed to drive off leaving the off enders in Greenhill Drive. They were all white and aged between 20-25. Wonder how they managed to punch him, all of Birminghams TAXI's are wav's with driver protection screens. |

They are not all purpose built LTI or Metro but we all know that many journalists do not distinguish between Hackney and P/H when mentioning the word "Taxi". Regards JD |

And don't forget that some councils use the word taxi generically as well, so if officialdom does it, we can hardly blame the press. |
