| Post subject: | Dundee cabbie robbed, vehicle vandalised |
Aberdeen Press and Journal November 8, 2007 Thursday Taxi driver robbed and vehicle vandalised A Taxi driver in Dundee was robbed of his takings and his vehicle was vandalised in an incident in the Lochee area of the city on Tuesday night. Shortly after 8pm the driver picked up five young men from the rank outside the City Churches and took them to the junction of Tofthill and Bright Street, after a brief stop at the Macalpine Road shops in Ardler. While one of the youths, all said to be local and in their teens, paid the fare another distracted the driver and a third stole a black leather pouch containing a small sum of money. As two ran away, three stayed by the taxi, a black Peugeot seven-seater, and one of them threw something at the side window, breaking it. The driver was uninjured. One of the youths was 5ft, aged 14 to 15, slim, with a fair complexion, sharp features and jaw-length brown straight hair in a centre parting. He wore a dark blue waterproof jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers. Another is described as being 18 to 19, 5ft 8in, of medium build with short fair hair. He wore a fawn crew or polo-neck sweater and dark trousers or jeans. The third suspect was slim and also had jaw-length straight brown hair in a centre parting. He had a tanned complexion. Another of the suspects is described as being aged 15 to 18 with an athletic build. Contact police on 01382 223200. _________________ |
