Five taxi drivers who illegally picked up passengers in the city centre have been fined a total of £1,400 by Nottingham magistrates.
Four of the drivers are licensed by neighbouring local authorities.
They can pick up only pre-booked fares.
The fifth driver was unlicensed.
The drivers are Sheikh Mohammed Anwar, 63, of Wollaton Street, Long Eaton, who was fined £500 with £100 costs; Liaqat Ali, 47, of Sneinton Boulevard, Sneinton, who was fined £450 with £100 costs; Iain William Ramsden, 42, of Cromford Avenue, Carlton, who was fined £175 with £100 costs; Khalid Mahmood, 36, of Derby Road, Wollaton Park, who was fined £175 with no costs, and Bukhtor Singh who was fined £100 with £50 costs.
