Access plan to keep town centre moving
A RADICAL transport plan to get Paisley town centre moving has been approved by council bosses.
Improved road traffic access, increased access for cycling and walking and better public transport have been identified as priorities.
Plans are already underway to open taxi and bus lanes to traffic in the evenings while a new pedestrian crossing could be put on New Street.
Longer-term, parking will also be improved with a new multi-storey car park and upgrading of the Piazza car park.
A report on how best to take the proposals forward will be delivered to the council next year.
