Timperley rogue traders clampdown
Messenger Newspapers
FIVE vehicles were seized and 70 fraud investigations are underway following a police operation targeting rogue traders.
The Altrincham neighbourhood police team led initiative - that involved officers from the Benefits Agency - took place on Shaftesbury Avenue and Stockport Road in Timperley yesterday.
Two vehicles - a school mini bus and a taxi - are also being investigated in regards to licensing issues.
The operation follows a similar initiative in Timperley on October 30, when police seized seven vehicles and reported eight people for driving without insurance.
Insp Simon Wright confirmed: "This was an extremely successful operation and will be repeated a number of times on the run up to Christmas."
