I really thought I had posted this but looking at the news section I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, perverts really do come in all shapes and sizes so as Slade once said, "lock up your daughters".

Pint-sized pervert on suspended term;

Taxi Driver admits grooming

A BOOTLE man looked so young after being caught in a police "sting" that he was asked if he had an appropriate adult with him when he arrived at a police station for questioning, a court heard yesterday.

Diminutive naval reservist Carl Leungsangnam, 25, who refereed junior football games for the FA, was arrested in London on May 23 at what he thought would be a romantic rendezvous after police set up a fake profile of a 14-year-old girl on the web to trap him.

Abby Arnold, prosecuting, told Southwark Crown Court he had made contact with the "girl" and said he would like to meet her when he visited the capital.

He exchanged text messages saying he would like to kiss and "sexually touch her".

On interview, he admitted the offence and said he had contacted several women, aged between 14 and 62.

But Leungsangnam walked free from the court after a pre-sentence report revealed his height could have led to his arrested emotional development.

Handing him a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years, Judge Christopher Hardy told him: "I take into consideration, because I can see your size is well below average, and what is suggested in the pre-sentence report is that may have led to some arrested emotion on your part. Nevertheless, trying to meet underage girls for sexual activity is an extremely serious offence."

Leungsangnam, of Tennyson Street, was also ordered to complete a sexual offenders' program, sign the sex offenders' register, comply with a three year supervision order, and pay pounds 120 costs after he admitted attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.

Leunsangman had worked in the past for the FA, but will no longer be able to referee for young teams. He has also been forced to leave the naval reserves and his job as a "taxi driver".

Ms Arnold told the court: "He said he wasn't sexually interested at all in females under the age of 16, he wasn't a paedophile, but believed 14-year-old girls in this day and age were more grown up than they used to be.

"He would probably say that many girls of 14 had had sex or done similar things."

Rachel Bright, for Leungsangnan, said: "He is a young man whose immaturity is perhaps belied by his appearance.

"It has been a struggle, leading as it has to bullying and what has been described by a probation officer as his physical appearance, his apparent youth, has had some effect on his emotional development.

"He presents as emotionally naive, especially in relation to his personal life. There is a reference to emotional loneliness, which led to the situation he found himself in."

Will no longer be able to referee for young teams
