9 Jan 2008 Men attacked after helping taxi driver TWO men were attacked after they came to the aid of a taxi driver in Old Town. The Good Samaritans, both in their forties, were attacked by three younger men in Victoria Road, near Cannon Street, on Sunday morning. They were assaulted some time between 2.15am and 2.30am after helping the taxi driver who was having problems with the attackers outside Longs Bar. PC Eddie Strange said: "Police are particularly keen to locate the driver of this cab and a female who was near the vehicle and may possibly have finished work in the area shortly beforehand." Have I got this right? The cab driver was bailed out by the people in the street, yet when it got heavy for them he pi**ed off?
