First it was BP, then Esso, now it's Shell.
That about even's out the custom between all three if we follow these campaigns.

March 2, 2008 Sunday Taxi driver boycotts Shell Andrew McCreaddie Knutsford Guardian A TAXI driver wants thousands of people to boycott Shell petrol stations in protest against rising fuel prices. Albert Wrench believes if enough people join his campaign, the Anglo-Dutch oil giant will be forced to consider cutting prices, which could then encourage others to lower theirs. "Imagine if we all did it for a month," he said. "If Shell thinks I'm a nobody then let 50,000 nobodies do the same thing." Mr Wrench, 45, chose Shell because the company is one of the biggest and most profitable oil businesses. Last year it made profits of £13.9billion - a record for a UK-listed company. Mr Wrench runs Knutsford taxi firm 24/7, which has three cars. Last month he told how rising petrol prices were damaging his profits but he would not pass on the extra cost to his customers. "I'm not going to put my prices up," he said. Two weeks ago the Guardian revealed that drivers in Chelford were paying 2p more for every litre of unleaded petrol from Shell than those living five miles away in Knutsford. The cost of a litre of fuel at Shell's garage in Chelford was then 103.9p. At Shell in Toft Road, Knutsford, drivers were filling up with 101.9p litres of petrol. But last week that price had already gone up by another penny. Mr Wrench said it was time to hit back. "We've got to start somewhere and I'm starting with Shell," he said. "It would just show for once that people can kick back when they feel something's not fair. "From now on Shell are getting no more money out of me." He added: "Even if they lose just a few grand a year I don't care. "If I'm one in a million then that's just the way it is but I'll go to bed at night thinking at least I kicked them once in the shin." ______________________ I always thought high fuel prices was down to the Governments tax policy? Some oil companies may find it convenient to up their charges over and above the price increase of a barrel of oil but we all know that there is only one culprit for high fuel charges. _______________________________ Regards JD |

why doesn't he target the real robbers in this country how much profit do you think they make out of a litre of fuel, when it come out of the refinery it is around the 30p a litre mark, they are certainly not making alot of profit on that, we need to go for the others who are taking the other 77p. and on that i prefer Shell diesel to using the crud supermarkets sell. which depending on were you are is about the same price. |

Maybe we should all start driving these things. Not sure they make a good cab, but the engine might well be the answer. 150 mpg, and nothing but water out the rear.

Yes the govt are the real thieves here. I don't see any other party offering to reduce the extortionate levels of fuel duty though. |
