Man accused of not paying cab fare

A youth accused of assaulting a man and then making off without paying a
taxi fare is to face trial by jury.

Matthew Sly pleaded not guilty to allegations of actual bodily harm and
failing to pay for the cab ride when he appeared at Swindon crown court.

The 20-year-old is said to have assaulted Terrence Fahey on Saturday
June 2 last year and not paid the £10 fare on the same day.

Sly, of Devon Road, Rodbourne, pleaded not guilty to actual bodily harm
and making off without payment.

He was released on unconditional bail to Tuesday May 20 when he is to
face trial before judge and jury.
