It seems this gentleman was indicted for a similar offence last year but was found not guilty. Makes one wonder if the Jury got it right the first time around?

There seems to be more twists and turns to this incident than an Agatha Christie Novel. The parents of the young victim are contemplating suing the council for negligence. It would be interesting if they succeeded. It would certainly place councils in an awkward position with regard to licensing borderline applicants.
