For some time we at TDO have been contemplating a magazine that compliments the hard work that goes into maintaining this website. The sticking point so far has been an appropriate banner or heading as some people might wish to call it. I think we are near to agreeing that process and therefore TDO is offering all of you who participate in this website the opportunity to convey in words what you would like to articulate to those in your own area. In other words, we are offering you a platform to put over your opinions and point of view. TDO does not discriminate and it doesn't matter what persuasion you categorise yourself as? You could be hackney carriage, private hire, limousine licensed or unlicensed, minibus, licensing officers uncle Tom Cobly and all. Your views will be submitted accordingly. I do however reserve the right to edit and amend any contribution that does not adhere to the queens English. Please do no't message me with any inquiries, this post is self explanatory. Regards JD |

Sorry, can't resist this: Quote: I do however reserve the right to edit and amend any contribution that does not adhere to the queens English. .....licensing officers, Uncle Tom Cobbly..... /end quote. Sorry, JD. ![]() Seriously though, a great idea. I can't think of any particular matters that I have a burning urge to contribute to at present. However, I very much look forward to seeing the first copy. Well done. |

How about a rant with GBC column every edition it'll be worth reading ! Out of interest are you planning to publish it on a periodical or occassional basis ? How do you propose financing and distributing it there are a lot of trade publications which seem to be heavily geared towards their main sponsors even to the extent of being distributes by them |

Out of interest are you planning to publish it on a periodical or occassional basis ? How do you propose financing and distributing it there are a lot of trade publications which seem to be heavily geared towards their main sponsors even to the extent of being distributes by them At this moment, the exercise is based purely on electronic distribution. If and when we do take advertising then we will naturally take into consideration how it might effect our independence of thought. The electronic database I have built up runs into several thousand. The newsletter or mini magazine will be circulated at least twice a month. That's once at least every fortnight. Regards JD |

This news letter or mini magazine as it could be described is offering some limited free space for advertising so if any subscriber to TDO wishes to place a small add free of charge then we will accommodate you on a first come first served basis. The adds must be small and no larger than two by two inches. Any limo adds must be from licensed operators only, we already assume that taxi operators are licensed. Regards JD |

It's not going to be another cover to cover advert for the Glasgow Taxi centre, like every other non-London publication seems to have gone? |

The free space is for anyone subscribing to tdo and is very limited. There will be only three small adds in this issue only, for this initial experiment. Regards JD |
