At the meeting yesterday, the mob from Station Taxis sat proudly at the front and explained how they had saved the day for York hacks by gaining a three year contract to supply taxis at York station, there was however a small increase in the permit fee of 140%. The colour drained from their faces when a representative of the independant drivers stated " You get on with it cos' we aint paying you or anybody else £1250 a year" There are 37 shareholders in Station taxis and it was pointed out to them that there are 80 independant drivers without who the rank is unworkable,the sums do not add up, what became obvious was that out of each £1250 paid a percentage would go towards each station shareholder getting a free permit. The independants are adamant they will not pay, and if Station Taxis have already paid £100,000 for the contract they are in deep cacka |

£1250 per year plus £55 per week radio = £4110 , times 117 cabs £480,870 per year income for station taxis office Go find an empty box put it outside there office and dump your radios in it and go work the street |

The maths is quite simple 80 drivers @ £1250 = £100000 37 drivers @ £0.00= £000000 permit costs £100000 a year from national Express the 37 shareholders are expecting the other 80 non shareholders to give them a free ride so to speak |

Also 0 drivers @ £55 radio = £000000 Not a pretty picture is it? |

It is not only stations that require taxis but Airports as well. What would happen if all drivers refused to pick up from these places until the fees where dropped, there would be mayhem and it would not take long for the stations and airports to come to there senses 4 or 5 days would really feck them up |

 I have never read so much nonsense about the situation at York Station. I have read all the comments and non are based on fact. All are a figment of peoples imagination. I you had the guts to name yourselves you would be facing injunctions. The folowing is fact no shareholder receives a free permit the share holders have to pay up front and cover any losses. Of the figures you are talking about £20665 is vat. In future get the facts correct before you make wild comments.
