An investigation is being demanded after The Herald learned a senior Tory councillor was involved in awarding a contract to Taxifast despite having shares in an associated company.



Opposition politicians want the Standards Board, the city council and even the police to examine the affairs of Eggbuckland councillor Ian Bowyer.

They say they want to know why Cllr Bowyer, Cabinet member for budget and asset management, did not declare an interest at the Cabinet meeting of November 27, 2007, when it reviewed a decision to issue six taxibus licences.
