FIFE GARAGE HIKES UP PRICES AS FUEL TALKS CONTINUE http://www.forth2.com/Article.asp?id=16202 A Fife filling station is charging £1.45 a litre for diesel as fears of a fuel crisis in Scotland escalate. The Rix garage in Kirkcaldy has also increased the price of unleaded petrol to £1.25 a litre. Meanwhile talks between management at Grangemouth oil refinery and union officials will resume today. Last night Ineos, who own the site said they'll be taking legal action against Unite, which is representing the workers in the bitter pensions dispute. The company says it's issued legal proceedings for "inaccurate and misleading" public comments made by the union. But despite this, both sides will meet again at conciliation service Acas in London in a bid to avert the strike that's planned for Sunday and Monday. |

I don't know Grandad ! Its kind of ironic that i picked up a oilman from Houston Texas yesterday, and he was asking me about the strike, and i mentioned about a garage in Edinburgh who did a similiar thing during the fuel protests, and he said that in Amerca its against the law to raise prices of goods effected by Hurricanes, tornados or any natural disaster, and strikes. I only presumed that we where the same . |
