29 Apr 2008 Terrified Cabbie Robbed At Gunpoint A taxi driver was held up at gunpoint after dropping off customers in a Lincoln street. The incident took place after the driver had taken a group to Mill Road, off Burton Road, Lincoln. The 24-year-old male driver, who was in a blue Peugeot 406 saloon car, had just dropped two women off. He then reversed into Mill Road to turn round. He was approached by two men and wound down his window. He was threatened with a handgun and forced to hand over his cash - around £100. The first suspect is described as white, 6ft and wearing a black or dark baseball cap with a green scarf covering his face and a tracksuit top. There is no description of the second offender, other than he is thought to have a local accent. After the robbery, which happened at about 3.05am on Saturday, the pair walked off towards Mill Row. The two women passengers, who are believed to live in the vicinity of Wilson Street, could be potential witnesses. A harsh lesson in life, then. A PH, three in the morning, and he stops and opens his window to two guys with their faces covered. I would have shot off (no pun intended) at speed under those circumstances. Why did he stop? He wasn't about to take a flyer, was he? |
