£400 for road tax FFS they dont even repair the fecking roads with the money they get at the moment ![]() How do you come to this conclusion when it does NOT affect cars over 7 years old? It is already cheaper for me to tax my 1999, 4.6 litre stretched limousines than my 2002, 2.5 litre rover 75 |

Cars registered befor 2001 are classed as PLG and do not have the same groups as cars after 2001 so unless there is a plan to tax any car that is PLG more then it wont happen. These older cars can't be reclassified to fit the new system because the information needed was not available at the time of manufacture. |

Grandad if you had listened to the news you will of heard that it applies to cars over 7 years old, to start with from below a 51 plate, then every year it moves up All that will mean is more folk will try to get away without paying it. |

The legislation coming in abolishes the exemption from higher road-tax rates for cars that emit more than 225g of CO2 per km and registered between March 2001 and March 2006 – hence, cars up to seven years old. Grandad please except my apologies after checking with the DVLA they sent the above statement |
