MAY EDITION

if you go to this site and click on newspaper, when the May edition is put on line, and go to pages 12 13 and 18, you will find that councils have been told to stop there WAV policies, and if they dont you should contact the editor and they will inform you of what action to take.

If you would like your own free copy email them or give them a call

I haven't read this article you mention but I doubt the DfT would tell councils to stop their wav policies since it was the DfT who initially advised them that WAV policy was down to them.

The only letter I'm aware of that has been circulated is one advising councils that a consultation on WAVs is to take place in the coming months. This consultation involves all stakeholders and it is anyones guess when a decision will finally be made about any future wav policy?

It might be a good idea if you could post the original DfT letter.

I think it's on here somewhere. :?

But I wonder if the DfT will get a few unions/association together with a two-bob journalist and do a deal without anyone else knowing?

Thankfully my view of the folks at the DfT is that they would never, even for a millisecond, consider such a thing.

There is a review taking place this summer regarding wavs I think the document in question relates to that exercise. All stakeholders are being informed about the process and are invited to comment. I'll get a copy next week unless you get one first?
