Hunt for taxi driver rapist who drugs female passengers

Police are hunting a black cab driver who claims he has won the lottery
before drugging and raping female passengers.

The man is believed to ply his victims with spiked glasses of champagne
before assaulting them.

He has struck at least five times, picking up his victims from the London
Bridge and Oxford Circus areas of the capital.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said an investigation was under way into
the reported attacks. A public appeal is due to be launched to track the
rapist down.

Three of the assaults have been carried out over the last three months
with the latest happening last Sunday when a woman was picked up in the
early hours near London Bridge station.

A police source told The Sun: "He made out he had won the lottery that
night. He pulled out a bottle of champagne from the front of his cab and
asked the victim to join him in the celebration."

In all the incidents, the victims have lost consciousness before waking up
aware that they have been sexually assaulted.

It is believed the man may not be a bona fide black cab driver, but
someone leasing the taxi from a legitimate driver.

The attacks are being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's Homicide
Command because of their expertise in dealing with serious offenders.

We all know that.
The press labels everything a "Taxi" these days be it a driver or a Private Hire vehicle.

I agree, and neither is an unlicensed minicab rapist a licensed London PH driver. :?

Do you achieve some personal satisfaction in continually trying to run down a section of the trade in which we all work?
Don't you realise that we all provide a transport service to the public and run the same risks from them?
We would be much better sticking together to further our common interests than slagging each other off at every opportunity. :?:

Its a shame that the papers and the police dont spend so much time hilighting the attacks that pirate hire and miniscabs do, i mean in london its a regular thing, but no one makes a noise about it . they all know it happens mayebe they dont want to affend certain SECTORS of the miniscab machine

Well I'm pretty sure all those attacks are reported and highlighted by members of the black cab trade.

As well as on TDO.

The sad fact is that most of the time we read "cab driver rapes passenger" it is normally a london PHV or someone pretending to be a london PHV.
The fact that this current case is getting so much press is that it is extremly rare for a london taxi driver to commit such an offence, we as yet don't know if he is a london taxi driver.
For all of you that think myself, GBC and cabman are constantly slagging off london PHV and the touts, remember this, we see it everyday we are working.
It's a sad fact, despite the licenceing of london PHV's, the quality of the drivers is still disgracefull. I work as a london PHV and as a controller so I feel I am giving an honest opinion.

Don't worry about what I post Mr Allo Allo, if you don't like it, don't read it.

You and your buddies may do the same job in quietsville, but in London there's a real Licensed London Taxi service, which drivers have as a career for many years, and a non english speaking in between jobs alternative.

The jobs could'nt be further apart.

Try the GMB, they'll agree with you, but you'll get no apology from me. =;

Mr Allo Allo,

I would ignore Mr GBC and his two stooges, regretably his kind care little for anything apart from attacking people or organisations that he considers a threat to his world. For example London PH, bus lane access for London PH and drivers who have English as a second language etc etc.

He reminds me of so many Taxi drivers who care for little outside their own area of work, happy to sit in the present, hoping that change will not come.

As history shows, one thing is for certain, change will occur, how it occurs is up to us.

Regards
BB

Ah the PH desk driver arrives on the scene.

Your two London based bigots will never change anything in London. During the 6 years of licensing, what have they acheived?

Stopping at the side of the road (which anyone could do using the correct bays) Ooooh! Worth every penny :D

Bus Lanes? Not a chance.

Drivers sheilds, simple enough you would think, No movement.

Royal parks? Simple enough, but you can't even get that one sorted.

Door Signage? No, overturned by another Minicab representative body.

Meters in the pretend taxi's? Nope

I even read other GMB rep's attacking the clown who claims to lead you. Unity is strength? Lol !

Then there's the good old numbers game. 600'000 I hear you cry, yep 600'000 boilermakers, AA patrolmen, school dinner ladys, but how many London Minicab drivers? 100? 200? Out of a potential 35'000. Ever asked yourselves why?

Perhaps if the two clowns stopped playing at keyboard warriors, issuing threats to everyone, climbing on the back of everyone elses victories, you might make some progress.

I'll give them one acheivement though, I've never heard of two individuals that are so hated from the North of the country to the South.

The whole Union thing is dead, it's 2008, not 1975. it's folks like you and Terry who try to keep the whole time warp slot alive. It's finished, the public don't give a sheeite about what Unions say, just accept it. :D

I passed a shop in Camden High Street, it specialises in 1970's artifacts, you should visit and furnish that cocoon you live in.
Let me know what it's like.

Meanwhile, keep dreaming the dream about your London trade cousins, that's as close as you'll ever get.

Hugs.
