Would it be worth having a day of protest over fuel prices.
If we where to all have a day off what do you think would happen :?:

6 Trucks, 2 Taxi's, 1 lost Minicab, and an old guy with a dog would turn up.

Meanwhile panic buying would start, and the fuel companies would add another 3p on every litre to slow people down, and forget to take it off again when the lad with the dog leaves.

Sorry to say but GBC is probably right.

Some would support it, others would line their pockets with the extra work.

It would need the fuel trucks to stop delivering the fuel, as they did when the gov backed down.

But I don't think that will be allowed to happen again.

The sad truth is it's the money markets upping the price of oil, in the same way as they are upping the price of wheat and meat.

The only way out of all of this is to put serious dough into research for new ways of propelling cars. :?

Haveing the day off would do absolutely nothing... it would be a minor hitch.... but if cab drivers and private hire drivers working together with the lorry drivers were to hit the motorways. ie. going round in circles at the major junctions... and going slowly on the motorways from one end of the country to the other... you would bring this country to a stop..... then you would make your point.... 8)

And as for new ways of research, would that be for an alternative fuel.... or how to get the government to relax on the outrageously high tax they put on fuel

Don't need to drive round and waste fuel, just a strategic lorry "broken down" in the right places would cause havoc, it happens round the Manchester area every morning and evening.

I remember a number of years ago looking into buying fuel from Ireland.... at the time the stipulation was that you must use it yourself, and not resell it,
