Officers said the man was attacked in full view of passing motorists

A man who subjected a driver to a racist road rage assault in full view of passing traffic is being hunted by police.

Officers said the attack on a 25-year-old Asian man was carried out by the driver of a grey Volkswagen Passat between Grangemouth and Polmont.

The attacker was described as white, aged in his 40s, with blond curly hair.

Central Scotland Police said the incident happened on 7 May at about 2300 BST on the A801.

A spokeswoman for the force said the Passat, which was travelling along the Bowhouse to Lathallan Roundabout road, may have been a private taxi.

She added: "The driver of the Passat motor car has carried out an unprovoked assault on the man by the side of the road in full view of passing motorists.

"These motorists may have seen the assault and we are keen to speak to anybody who may have witnessed this, which we believe was racially motivated."

The spokeswoman added that the attacker was about 5ft 3in tall, had a stocky build, and was wearing glasses and a horizontally-striped white and yellow polo shirt.

Well let's hope someone got his plate number, or even a good look at his face. Then they can go down the council and look at all the pictures of licensed drivers.

We really don't need folks like this in the trade.

sussex the trade is full of racists from many differant racial backgrounds !!!!

Whilst i would never condone violence and hope that this individual wasn't a licensed driver it would be nice to find out a few of the facts behind the case first before making a judgement

I think all of us are racist to a larger or lesser degree, thankfully I'm a very lesser.

But it's not just the racist attitude of this alleged driver, it's the road rage aspect to it.

The mush is a **** of the highest order.
