Woman raped by bogus taxi driver A WOMAN has been raped by a bogus taxi driver. The victim was walking along the A6 in Hazel Grove, when a van pulled up alongside her. She got in and asked the driver to take her home but he drove a short distance then pulled over and attacked her. The woman was let out of the van near Carpet Right. The driver was Asian, in his late 20s or early 30s, and had short hair, gelled back. He was wearing jeans and a grey or blue hooded top. The vehicle was a white van, with luminous yellow and orange stripes on the side. Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 0161 872 5050, or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. They are also stressing that anyone on a night out should think in advance about how they are going to get home, and to stay in groups wherever possible. They point out that the only taxis that are licensed to pick up on the streets are black cabs. |

How wrecked must she have been to confuse a bloody works van for a taxi... or is that a rough area where vans are the normal mode of fare Charging Passenger Transportation. |

She must have been well wrecked & probably knackered after walking some distance, so took the chance. You know what they say, "They'll get into a dustcart if it will take them home after a night on the lash." |
