Women In A Punch-up Over A Taxi

22nd September 2008

Police are investigating an all-female brawl in which seven women attacked two others over a taxi ride.

Two, aged 19 and 22, suffered a number of injuries including swollen lips, bruised eyes and bloody noses in the attack.

Police believe the two victims were about to get into a taxi at around 11.30pm on September 6 in Vauxhall Street when they were set upon by a screaming woman.

One of the victims was thrown to the floor by two attackers while the other fell under the weight of five violent women.

Fortunately a handful of men stepped in to haul the mob of five women off the second victim, and police say they are very keen to find these men, as they are potential witnesses to the assault.

The victims were able to describe two of their main attackers, who are both white.

The first suspect was aged around 22 and 5ft 7ins tall, with long, dark hair.

She was of very large build and wore blue jeans and a sleeveless black top with a deep V-front.

The second suspect was older, aged around 30, and 5ft 4ins tall, skinny with long, blonde hair. She wore a black halterneck backless top.

Anyone with information about the brawling ladies should call police on 08452 777444 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference number EC/08/9873.
