No appeals for bus passengers
Times, October 6, 2008, 5
Webster, Ben
Bus passengers who make complaints about services will no longer have right of appeal to an independent body. They will instead have to take their complaints to an organisation funded by the bus industry. Rail passengers, in contrast, are able to appeal to the independent body Passenger Focus. The Department for Transport is planning to give Passenger Focus some responsibility for promoting the interests of bus passengers but does not intend to allow it to consider complaint appeals.
