CREDIT CRUNCH: Helping customers

THE price is right for a Grimsby taxi firm owner, who has frozen his fares to help customers' finances.

Per Svendsen, owner of Revells Taxis, on Grimsby's Railway Street, said the recent cut in petrol prices would be passed on to his customers.

And employees who have to get to work in the early hours will face a lower fare as no extra charge is made for unsociable hours.

Mr Svendsen, who has worked in the taxi business for more than 35 years, said: "We are freezing our prices so that more people will use us and the lads will get busier.

"A lot of people have said due to the petrol prices increases, the fares had to go up. But petrol has come down, so I will pass that on to customers and freeze the fares."

I would imagine he is a smashing fella, who also happens to know what constitutes a good PR story.

That said, would drivers rather do two £6.00 jobs an hour or three £5.00 jobs? :?
