Your daft comments about Mountbatten apart - Britain ran away from India under the Atlee government - it created partition and led to the deaths of millions.

What happened after WW2 in Palestine has effects to this day.

Atlee was a good Prime Minister - however the country was effectively propped up by the Marshall Plan and US Dollars - Atlee spent the money wisely in rebuilding the country - but what other choice did he have - the country was bankrupt after the war and in ruins.
