Spoken like a true Tory, Sussex.
Important when you have it.......tell Scotland it will be an economic basket case without it......and now it doesn't matter when you've lost it. #-o

Mark my words, it'll matter when the country is paying more to service it's obscene debt level and I think I can guess whose going to be bearing the brunt of it.
It certainly won't be those who got a 5% cut in their top rate of tax.

Perhaps ATOS can redouble their efforts to cure more disabled than Billy Graham.

No, nor will it suddenly restore us to being a net exporter. 34 years of Tory and pseudo-Tory misrule have seen that possibility off.
We will still import most things and we will pay more for them.

Oil is priced in US dollars, in case anyone has forgotten.

And, of course, as I have to add to, it is not fair to compare England with Germany now anyway, for the latter has not lived of the Anglo-American asset bubble as much and it´s cab-drivers have not gotten as rich as UK ones before 2008. So, just one more time, my friends, hang in there with the yanks, in for a pound once, in for a penny now, haha.

A bit of perspective here half of Europe and the USA have already lost their AAA credit rating and these agencies didn't get their ratings right with the banks did they so not many people take them seriously now.

France and the USA have lost their top notch rating, so what. The present bunch have given us neither austerity or growth.
All they seem to do is fudge. This budget will show what they are made of, if anything.
Be nice to see them do something positive like cutting Corporation tax and doing away with Capital Gains tax. They could also privatise the BBC for me.

China?

Well Germany always did want to rule the world

You cant put a lid on spending by just simply spending less on everything, when your economy is designed around growth. It's like trying to drive your car further everyday but cutting back on the amount you spend on petrol.

It's not rocket science is it?
