So it appears the Supermarkets have been surreptitiously palming us of with meat sourced from animals that have been in effect TORTURED to death..........as opposed to humane slaughter :evil:

Evidently the Jewish and Muslim community want their meat tortured to death by a religious fanatic chanting some GIBBERISH to their version of the SKY PILOT #-o

Well i think thats despicable who agrees with me that.

1. This type of slaughter must be banned immediately in this country the UK
2, Sale of meat slaughtered in such a way must be made a criminal offence with compulsory imprisonment for any offence.
3. Any person guilty of slaughtering or assisting in Halal or Koshe slaughtering of any any animal must be imprisoned.

Furthermore it appears certain religous nutters are insisting in some areas BRUM that all school meat must BE HALAL, WELL I RECKON THEY CAN GO FEKK THEMSELVES :badgrin:

LETS ADOPT THE POLICIES ABOVE.

I'm all for animal welfare. It's just another step towards an Islam state.

You will really struggle to buy a Chicken that is not Halal. Personally I am not bothered how an animal is slaughtered as long as it does not include gratuitous cruelty.

I used to get Rabbits by snare, Ferret or gun. I have shot Deer. If you want to eat the results you do have to do it quick or the meat is almost unusable.

I certainly go sea fishing and fish should not be stunned or have their spinal cords snapped, they should be left to "Fade Away" or again they are not as good as they can be to eat. If you think that Trawler men on the factory boats are stunning each one before despatching and turning it to Fish Fingers you are sadly deluded. Chances are they are gutted and filleted just after the net is hauled. Fish for the slab are gutted as they caught as this improves the quality no end.

I have, in a previous employment, inspected Slaughter Houses around the world before placing very large orders. If you frighten an animal before slaughter an enzyme, adrenalin, will be in the meat and the quality goes down. Halal Slaughter can be, and often is, better than the Stun first option.

Where I do have a slight issue is the Butchery post slaughter. But I have the same questions on European and North American Butchers as well. Only in the United Kingdom are the Butchers excellent. Some of the joints you get are very strange. I have never seen a real Butcher in a Supermarket by the way, I always source my meat at a Butchers Shop.

I would agree that the removal of all Pork items on School menus should be resisted. Life without Bacon, Sausage, Pork Chops, Salami and the like, would certainly drag. But ban Halal - not necessary. If a label is required then so be it, but I for one would be just as likely to buy the Halal anyway.

I am all for choice if you want it - label the food, you choose. I will quite happily choose Pre-stunned, Halal or Kosher, I will simply look for quality of product.

I'm not sure I agree with you that "Halal slaughter can be and often is, better than the stun first option" it's a question of which is more efficient in shutting down the animal's nervous system before it has a chance to register pain and suffering but that aside. What about the issue of integration and religious nutters imposing their beliefs on people who have no interest in what they believe? I don't see why I should be forced to make dispensations for people coming to live in my country. For me, it is relatively simple, accept our ways and integrate fully or fu*k off back to where you came from. We have enough religious nutters of our own without importing the problem.

Now if Religious groups of whatever persuasion wanted to limit your choice to Strangled or go Vegetarian I would be up in arms, but that is not their aim. If "other cultures" are wanting to live here and if they have the right to do so, then they de facto have to be catered for. You of course have to be catered for as well. Bottom line is, proper labelling will allow informed choice, so let's have the proper labelling, simple.

It's not about labeling of food it's about full integration into our society. We are not forcing anyone to live here, and even if they have the right to do so, it should be on the condition. They are not allowed to recreate their country of origin here in the UK, Islamic schools, Halal meat, etc. Oh, and they don't "de facto have to be catered for" that is bullsh*t. Our society is the whole package, take it or leave it. Oh and I don't really have a problem with people believing in nonsense, and they can have the places of worship but that's as far as it should be allowed to go.

It is ONLY about the labelling of food. You are right, we do not force anyone to live here, but we do allow them to do so. You can't enforce the condition that you're suggesting that they conform to "full integration" or your expelled. Anyone can start a School, the State can only be involved if the State are providing funding. If the funding is provided it can be conditional that the National Curriculum is provided, choice of Religion would remain with the Headmaster and Governors. Jewish schools have existed since the Commonwealth in the 17th Century, Roman Catholic (openly) since emancipation in 1829 and the Church of England for longer than both of those. Take away the Assisted Religious Schools and education in the UK would collapse. If a market is there it will be provided for, Halal and Kosher have a market. For that matter there are any number of other religious and/or cultural diets that are also provided, you are free to indulge, you are free to abhor. All that matters is the freedom of choice. Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Temples, Meeting rooms (and the list goes on) etc. are paid for by the users, unaided by the state, so I am so pleased that you will allow them to remain. The Country would be culturally so much worse off if our Medieval Cathedrals and Churches, historically significant Synagogues and the like were bulldozed to make room for pre-stun slaughterhouses.
