I agree with the above but I really do believe that Scotland would have to go through one hell of a pain barrier, to achieve anything remotely like the social justice you allude to in your post. In fact, I think it's a pipe dream.
The wealthy elite and their political class in this country are not about to put the public interest before that of their own interests. Therefore, a "yes" vote is more likely to deliver us from the frying pan into the fire.

Skull - you are exhibiting the very attitudes that Scotland needs to change - ie Scottish people are NOT politically involved, not in their communities nor society nor in their own day to day lives - its always somebody else far away that decides everything - your voice means nothing, you know that the 'wealthy elite and the political class' will NEVER budge an inch. And so we are defeated. It is that defeatism that runs right through the Scottish psyche - its what makes us drink, take drugs or get in pointless fights, it makes us have low self-esteem. Scotland has one of the worst health records in Europe and some of the worst poverty, pretty shocking considering its wealth. There is a better way, but we have to fight for it. No-one can deny Scottish people have a distinctive culture - its time to be proud of that, its time to take a stand for what we believe in - a better deal for Scotland, control of our own resources, a government representing the people of Scotland. If Scottish people wake up on Sept 19th and still be under Westminster control it will be a terrible terrible lost opportunity - for once in your life just believe in something, just believe in yourself, all you have to do is tick a box not get skewered on some battlefield like our ancestors did!
I am exhibiting nothing of the sort because I know how the political system works and better than most. And as long as you have a system which fails to deliver transparency and direct accountability in the public interest, you will always have an unaccountable wealthy elite and their political lap dogs running the country in their own interests, and that's an irrefutable fact.
The Scottish people are not about to wake-up and start championing the cause for social justice which a political class is then duty-bound to deliver. It just won't happen. The only chance Scotland has of ever becoming the kind of society you, and I dream about will be at a point of civil unrest. That's your opportunity for real change.
What you seem to be proposing is, "vote yes" and our political system will start delivering up huge helpings of social justice like dumplings at Christmas time.
I'm telling you now, even if you get your independent Scotland any kind of justice will be hard fought for.

The political brave heart theme is a nice dream but bollocks all the same.
