Keep reading continous criticism by Captain Cab ie Mr Negative so heres your chance Capt negative publish your views on the general election..............just what policy's do you advocate support ..................come on break the habit of a lifetime publish your manifesto :badgrin: :badgrin:

Let me assist on some issues

Taxation ......................tax cuts for the rich ???
NHS is it safe with the tory's?/
should the NHS be privatized ??
Should the railways be Nationalised
What should the minimum wage be in 2016???
Do we need a royal family?
Should immigration be restricted/
In or Out of the EU
Should we have a referendum/
Should scotland leave the UK??

No, but it depends what you class as rich, in London for example where property prices have become silly, you could have a little old lady who bought a house 40 years ago now having a house worth millions - should she pay a huge tax bill?


NHS is it safe with the tory's?


I think the NHS is no safer with the tories than with labour - the labour party spent 300 Billion pounds in PFI schemes - this ultimately tells me that labour are probably worse than the tories

should the NHS be privatized ??


due to the PFI deals negotiated badly by labour the majority of hospitals are already effectively privatised

the cleaning services by interserve and maintenance by contractors, and the hospitals are tied into these deals for the duration of the PFI repayments.

One example locally was the NHS in Carlisle, they hired in a team of South African doctors and nurses during the Blair years to bring down specific waiting lists for eye operations - this was effectively privatising the nhs - or outsourcing as they like to phrase it.

I personally despise the way the nhs is used as a political football - its the politics of scaring people, but then politicians are good at that.

Yes, they should never have been privatised


What should the minimum wage be in 2016???


I think the minimum wage is a silly idea due to the country being rich in the south and poor in the north - £10 per hour would be a good wage in Carlisle - but frugal in London.

The wage should be set locally and based upon local averages



Do we need a royal family?

Not really an election question but I don't think we should have a royal family - or president for that matter.


Should immigration be restricted?


This is a pointless exercise if we continue to permit European immigration and very much dependent upon your next question.

Personally speaking I think if a person is going to live in this country they should speak fluent English and pledge allegiance if they are to be UK citizens - if they are coming to work here we should issue work permits - a rigorous system should be in place to prevent fraudulent

We should have a referendum - in the 1970's the UK joined a Common Market - the body we joined has changed vastly since then. I don't think it was ever anticipated the Common Market would make laws that would affect the UK.

Personally I would like to remain in the EU.


Should Scotland leave the UK??

That is a decision for Scots, if I was a Scot I would have voted Yes last year - again as mentioned in respect of the NHS - the No side offered Scots the politics of fear and uncertainty.

The fact of the matter is many countries have became independent over the years and many have prospered.

It is difficult on the border to think of Scotland as a separate country, because I can see it from my bedroom window - but I always maintained during the referendum, the English don't understand the Scots - to lecture them and say they wont make it is a bit of an insult.

Irrespective, the entire Scottish thing was the brainchild of Blair - ultimately putting parliaments in the 4 different countries has weakened any union there ever was.

Hopefully one day Scotland will have the balls to vote for independence.
