If there had been any serious doubts about ballot papers being correct, they would have been taken out before announcing the result. even at my count any ballot papers that could be classed as doubtful were removed and all candidates were allowed to scrutinise them before deciding to allow or disallow them. If there were sufficient papers being doubtful that it could affect the result I am sure the returning officer would not have declared. Postal ballot papers here were scrutinised on a daily basis for several days before election day and any that did not comply with the requirements would have been looked at before election day. |

Old Bill have more than that to go on Gramps according to the article. its not the actual ballot paper but where it came from, remember the Vermin that beat Farage was previously in UKIP in a senior position, this one could have some mileage

I've heard loads of fraud etc stories about the referendum up here - some believable, most not. Quite a few concerned the postal vote system which seems to be wide open to abuse. With such a close and hotly contested seat as this one, I suppose it was inevitable the result would be called into question by someone. Let's just hope the truth of the matter comes out. |
