The EU aristocrats will not want the house of cards to fall (pity). This result will turn it potentially into a bargaining battlefield for lots of struggling countries........fun days to come.

Angela Merkel wants to lead a United States of Europe to save the euro.

"Plans to invade Greece are already prepared. " She commented.

Greece never intended to repay the money

Why cant the UK borrow £400Bn then not repay it?

sounds like a plan to me

I might try that one myself.

It is a classic case of when you borrow so much it hurts the greedy lender to the point of holding gun to the lenders head.

The "Bankers" in effect did it to us (but we the people on the street....had to bail them out). Now the jackboot is on the other foot whereby it will in effect be the politicians junket money being affected, guess what? (they do not want to pay), no surprises on that one.

If another nation came forward at this moment and defaulted = NO MORE EURO =D> , so imo I would say that the likes of Greece only have to print their own money to then start trading with other defaulters i.e Argentina + others outside of the EU + other third world countries - the others would soon come flooding back.....money talks.

Greece/the Greeks have shown real democracy, something that money cannot buy and something that we do not have. In a roundabout way......I envy them.

That about sums it up. Greece will soon be a third world nation with a worthless currency. Who will want their currency?

Unless I am missing something then I do see that as being the case.

I see it this way; They literally start from scratch i.e print their own money i.e the Drachma, and make no mistake a value will be put upon it ( whatever that value is, is another matter). The question of
Quote:
Who will want their currency?
, the answer being other countries in the same/similar boat + as mentioned others eager to open up new trade areas/make money. The Greek credit is shot to pieces, so they will have to do like for like until they get their act together - yes they will have to make changes, but I believe they will be better for it.

The only people who are shouting for this to stay together are "BIG" business and politicians! the people all around the EU are seemingly happy to get out. That tells me what I already know - the EU is not for the people or small business, it is way above that.

So we are now 40 years plus into this apparent utopian/grandiose club membership sold on the basis of "happy days for everyone" ..........and the EU is still not right - it is creating bankrupt countries, practically every country owes big bucks (I cannot get my head around that one - someone must be making money out of it), and keeping the populations people poor.....Oh and the rich/politicians are getting richer.

In a nutshell it is not working for the likes of you and I - it was never intended to do so. It started off with 6/7 countries, VAT came along (another tax) was 10%! today there are something like 27/28 countries with VAT @20%! plus countless laws imposed that has affected our/Europeans living standards, and cultural way of life, we are categorically in a worse state than ever - how much more proof do people need to see that it is never going to work for the people. The reason we/the EU are in a mess, is because the EU population have been financially suppressed (in our case for decades).

As Labour said "The cupboard is bare" - the chickens are now coming home to roost.

When was the last time the EU showed some accounts?? It's a bankrupt nation made worse by the likes of Merkel and Junker.

The EU will be a third world nation when the UK and Austria leave. There's only one way for the Greeks at the moment and that is "UP." Merkel is shitting herself at the thought of the Greeks leaving the EU, what makes it all worse is, all the political parties in Greece want out of the EU.

China and Russia will be queuing up to do business with them, along with the Japanese, Australians, Canada and the rest of the world they'll be in a better place.
