It will not stop people buying such drinks only has increased the price you pay(stealth taxation),The only way to reduce sugar intake is to outlaw the adding of additional sugar to a product.Again we have people saying it is a good way of controlling obesity in children but it will not stop the buying of these products.
Osborne will not upset his rich mates in the food industry by outlawing the adding of additional sugar in a product, again it is a smoke screen by him trying to be clever when all it is doing is bump up the price of a product.
This action possibly could end up with a challenge by an EU manufacturer who sells products in the UK by claiming that a tariff is being levied to restrict the selling of their product.

What! so if you have good parents the kids can eat as much sugar as they like and they wont become fat?

Fat lardy child will still drink to much Sugary drink, fat lardy mum will dig deeper to fuel fat lardy child's sugar craving, fat greedy Government will get fatter of the extra taxation from fat lardy mothers fat lardy child's addiction to the white stuff.

Jamie Oliver wont save a single child, he'll just have made the hard up even harder up through extra taxation.

can't you ever read anything the way it's supposed to be read....CC quite clearly states it's sh*t parenting that's creating the problem not good parenting as you are insinuating he meant.

Your right in what I was meaning.

Those who still actually drive cabs and pick up punters recognise the parents who always give in to their boisterous little cherubs - a Greggs sausage roll or some fizzy pop for the 2 minute cab ride, just to keep them quiet obviously.

The same parents that let their cherubs wander around asda opening biscuits and eating them before they get to the check out - because if they don't allow that the kid will kick off.

I have a solution - stop all benefits and sterilize the feckless.

To be in the Cabinet, CC would have to be an elected MP or, perhaps, be elevated to the House of Lords.

As I put elsewhere, I like extreme scenarios.
