The Council seat vacated by me has been won by the Labour candidate. The new Council is Tory 25 seats, Independent 2 seats and Labour 1 seat.

The voters must have taken notice of the reasons for your resignation and the labour candidate must have made the most of the mistrust that you had in the system.

At the 2015 election this same Labour chap finished in last place.

Give him questions to ask that you could not ask or get answers to.

Educate him about TAXIS and private hire

I still think you should have stood as an independent that would have highlighted the issue

I would still not have been allowed to ask questions about anything to do with taxis.
Now I submit questions to full council and they really don't like that.

There was only the one seat up for grabs.

Not quite what I meant ! has the change made your fellow councillors squirm or even change council policy as a result ?

No, 1 Councillor in opposition is not enough. the 2 independents are with the tories.
However thing have changed as far as taxi licensing is concerned although there is still a long way to go. I managed to get the Council to change the way in which they calculate the fees and this has resulted in vehicle licenses being £100.00 a year cheaper now.
