Who will oversee the exit?
It seems to me that the people who got you to vote leave have now left themselves. Probably because they know that they can't give what they were promising so they have gone and left it to someone else to sort out.
With Teresa May getting more votes in the first round of the leadership election than the rest of the candidates put together and Michael Gove only coming 3rd, I think it is looking less likely that the leave will happen.

This unelected government has strings attached. Strings that are pulled by Rupert Murdoch, that is who rules us now. What we need is a credible opposition party, think about it the Sun destroyed the miners, it destroyed and perverted the justice for the families of the Hillsborough disaster. The whole business is about political power and moving it to Thatcherite type policies. We will have the balls squeezed out of us for the sake of the rich and the powerful. Boris and Farage and all them have finished their roles. They will all now be looked after by uncle Rupert.

How on earth do you come to the conclusion that they have finished their roles? There has been a non binding referendum. We have not even started the process of leaving. These 2 were responsible for all the outlandish promises and now that they know that they can't deliver they disappear and leave the mess for others to sort out.
How can you say that our Government are unelected?

The government called the referendum without a plan in place for the result which they did not expect,Cameron thought he was on an odds on favourite but like many 2 horse races the outsider won.

Government mismanagement has caused all the problems and the main cause of the problem CAMERON has jumped ship and left someone else to attempt to solve a problem caused by non discript prime minister who could not lie straight in bed.

I said on the "EU in out topic" that I do not believe that we will be allowed to leave June 21st page 23.

It strikes me as more than slightly odd that Boris and Farage have resigned, both of them are highly intelligent with enormous amounts of courage. However the way that I would imagine the situation to pan out in the corridors of power, does not really surprise me!

We have to remember that there are vast amounts of money/wealth at stake. History tells us that man is at its worst when money/wealth is the prize, on the back of that I would not be at all surprised if behind the scenes serious threats have been made to them and their families.

Look at the situation now; Cameron resigns (he had to), Boris and Farage also gone and Gove goes back into the ranks leaving one heavy weight (not intended to be personal).........Therasa May! She failed massively with immigration, and now she (I cannot see it being anyone else) will be negotiating (of a fashion) with Brussels who still want us "In" (as does she and the money people).

The deal for all intents and purpose will focus around (access to the EU market) and (the free movement of EU citizens). She will come back with more doom and gloom, prior to that the Stock Market will also deliberately scare the pants off of the population with ie increased oil prices, food prices, and of course dearer holidays etc ie.......we told you so!

The bottom line being is that the leaders of the out campaign are out of the picture, leaving the "outs" with no real voice. In effect it leaves the "Ins" with a free run at staying in. T - May will come back with a rehashed version of "Staying In the EU" comprising of a slightly reduced contribution, and a scheme that will allow xxxxx immigrants to come in - whilst they look the other way (as they have already done) and to then allow all and sundry to come in. Democracy being the biggest loser in the UK and the UK along with the populations of Europe being screwed for all time.

I am finding it difficult to disagree with what you are saying here John.
Even though I wanted us to remain in, I accepted that the vote was for out. I am very disappointed that the leaders of the out brigade have decided not to see things through right to the end. The one bit of your analogy that will disagree with is in your last paragraph. I don't think there will be any changes to the deal that is already in place. I don't think there will be any concessions.

I think the problem was that many of the out campaign people were only doing it for the sake of being involved and getting lots of the limelight in order to further their political careers. I think once the enormity of the result had sunk in it was a case of run for cover and wait for the dust to settle and then step in.

In my opinion the Tory party has decided that Theresa May is the perfect sacrificial lamb to engineer the restoration of our status within the EU and then step aside for an "election winning candidate" at the next general election because after the deed is done i.e. EU membership restored and referendum result ignored as too impractical she will of course be able to step down thus absolving the party of the blame for what happens

Because the Government want 50 fewer elected Members of Parliament but keep on creating more unelected Tory peers?

Acts of parliament are passed by the elected members. The House of Lords is there to question all the details and sugest amendments but the Lords cannot pass acts or stop an act if the Government want to get it through.
