Ken Loach’s Palme d’Or-winning film I, Daniel Blake, depicts the cruelty of the benefit system through the eyes of an older man who’s been found fit for work. In Ashton, Greater Manchester, we look into the lives of the real Daniel Blakes and those who, as in Loach’s film, have began to fight back.

Got my back up when I watched it. That old guy who'd worked all his life and knackered his hands up in the process was being hunted by the DWP to work.

It just shows how far we've slipped under the Tory boys rule Terry. Hit the ones who won't fight back.

I think that it is fair to say that it is not just the Tories - they are all cut from the same cloth.

People need to realise that this being patriotic/British/ (we are all in this together) loyalty crap, means absolutely nothing to the elite, as you and I are nothing but a means of providing taxation revenue, to keep them in a lifestyle that they have become used to. Once they have got that money out of you and I, then you are not getting it back. They will then give it to immigrants as they are generally younger, with a longer working life ahead of them, as it will continue to feed the tax system, thus continuing to keep them in affluence. Just like the armed forces you are cannon fodder of a different type.

They are going through the motions with the public to give them a better life, when in actual fact they are doing nothing but buying time in office to finance their own giant ponzi scheme i.e We have had a national debt my entire life - it is getting worse! If you could not turn a business around in an entire lifetime.......then there is something seriously wrong/flawed, unfortunately government after government apparently fail!!!

With this massive failure getting more serious they turn to other ways to raise money to keep them in their lifestyle i.e token justice, along with a token police force that are both designed to con the public into thinking they are protected. The truth being is that the shorter time that you keep the crims in prison, then less comes out of taxation, that leaves more for the judiciary and others within the system who get extremely rich sitting on tribunals, and perusing over potential cases for years and years, drawing more and more tax payers money that is being refueled by a shrinking police force - tbh none of it really being the tip of an iceberg, as it is far worse than we can all possibly know. To see the seriousness of our plight, food banks are springing up all around Britain, with the do gooders telling us that the EU works, and GB is the best in the world

When they say "Your Country needs you", then it should be a two way street i.e "I need my Country"..........unfortunately it is only one way. I hope in my lifetime that I see a rebellion against these type of governments, to rectify the injustices from those at the top, who are screwing people the world over.

Seems that Theresa May has seen the light, TT.

Maybe you should too, and join the Tory Party.
