I challenge all members of TDO active or passive to try and talk to prospective candidates for the June 8th general election to see if

a) they are even aware that the draft act exists
b) if they or their party has any intention of looking at it or adopting it
c) if they consider any changes to existing legislation necessary

I reckon if we get one reply we will be lucky but more than one well so come on cabbies and PH lets see if we can generate some awareness amongst existing and prospective MP's of the issues that desperately need addressing in our trade

GOOD LUCK !!!!

A tad bitter about the recent local government elections are you Tel ? or is it the fact you are going to finish below the hotspurs in the table ?

either way you seem to have a massive chip on your shoulders today.

The point is at times like this EVERYBODY needs to remind those who want to be in power that we exist and have issues that need to be resolved if we all keep our mouths shut and leave it to the trade "reps" we will be ignored and the proposed act shelved indefinitely

Most of these candidates once elected will not be the ones dealing with transport matters but if they know there are issues they might at least talk to those that are and bring the issues of our trade to the fore
