Putting political doctrine and personalities aside for the moment I think we should have a serious discussion about whether any of the parties are offering anything much to our trade

Labour are offering reform of the outdated laws but higher taxes for high earners (which probably only includes the london boys)

the Tories are offering to try and reduce the flood of new drivers through immigration controls but are their proposals practical. they are also going to hammer us with emissions controls and forcing us to buy expensive new vehicles

the greens are offering to force us all to drive at 20mph

the Lib Dems ain't got a scooby do what their policies are as far as I can tell

lets have an intelligent discussion which we are all capable of so Tel none of your rants please lets have informed opinion instead Thank You

Euro 5 (Sept 2009 on) and 6 NOx emissions from Diesels due to their Particulate Filters are hardly any different to Petrol Engines, indeed the C0 emissions are about half those of a Petrol engines.

the only reason they seek to demonize diesels is as an excuse to tax their owners harder until we change needlessly to Petrol engines, and when we have done so it'll be their turn to be demonized.

The Diesel NOx guff is an unproven but convenient theory in which they blamed NOx for the deaths a guesstimated 40,000 people who already had breathing problems from other causes such as Smoking and obesity.

What would this fechin bunch of Green Guff believing polticians rather have, banning diesels due to an unproven scare story that would cost so much to rectify that it could and would put hundreds of thousand out of a Job.

Or admit that Diesel is not the Bogey man that the grant grabbing scientists kid them on that it is and keep the Diesel to Petrol ratio status quo and avoid us having to scrap 15 Million perfect serviceable diesel cars at an estimated £150 Billion pounds? not to mention a further £200 Billion pounds to replace them with Petrol cars.

These Figure would ruin the Country.

Oddly they seem quite happy for you to drive them if you Pay extra for the privilege..that in itself implies that they can't be to bad or they would ban them outright.

Bunch of frenzied trendy Pseudo Green nut jobs..that's modern Governance, Elected by the Majority to please the Minority at the expense of the majority.

That kind of Daftness will probably cause more deaths through depression due to Government twaddle than any NOx will ever do....the worlds gone mad.

Reforming the Trade Union laws will of course assist the earning capabilities of EMPLOYED staff at company's as will employment rights from Day one
