naughty girl [-X

An MP who lied to police about a speeding offence has said she plans to stay on in the House of Commons, despite facing a possible jail term.
Writing in her local newspaper, Fiona Onasanya said constituents should "rest assured" she will remain their MP.
The Peterborough MP, 35, was convicted of perverting the course of justice at the Old Bailey earlier this month.
She has been expelled by Labour, but will only lose her seat in the Commons if she is jailed for more than a year.

Can't believe she has the nerve to not resign

Nothing new in what she did, only problem she told the lies to someone who was prepared to do something about it.

She must have thought parliamentary privilege covered her outside the House of Commons.

Another Corbyn stooge who was promoted to run for MP by labour more through a mandatory Labour mix of sexual equality and cultural diversity than on personal ability....It's PC gone fechin mad, be far better having the right person for the job than shoehorning someone into a job just because they tick all the PC boxes..shameful as well as shameless.

JAILED

The Peterborough MP was thrown out of the Labour Party after being convicted of perverting the course of justice.
She has been jailed for three months after a re-trial at the Old Bailey.
The court heard evidence Onasanya was texting as well as speeding, during the summer recess.
Onasanya is the first sitting MP to be jailed since Terry Fields was sentenced to 60 days for failing to pay his £373 poll tax bill in 1991.
Her brother Festus was jailed for 10 months for his involvement, after pleading guilty to the same charge.
Onasanya was elected as Labour MP for Peterborough in June 2017, six weeks before committing the offence, in Thorney, Cambridgeshire.

BUT SHE STILL WON'T RESIGN !!!

"When she was found guilty she should have immediately done the decent thing and resigned," he said.
"Today's sentence gives Fiona one last opportunity to act honourably and resign from parliament.
"If Fiona does not resign, Labour will support local residents in their efforts to trigger a by-election through a recall petition."

The Conservatives also called for Onasanya to resign as an MP.

"She cannot possibly represent her constituents from prison and should do the decent thing and immediately step down," a spokesman said.
"If she doesn't, we will campaign to use a recall petition to ensure that the residents of Peterborough can have their say in a by-election for a new MP."

so now apparently a petition of recall is happening but if less than 10 percent of the electorate of the constituency signs it she gets to carry on till the next general election

which means she's probably safe

15 candidates

certainly plenty to choose from but suspect too many trying to stand to make a point that others already making ultimately the alternative vote will be split so far and wide that Labour will win back the seat

Just proves what most people believe, 15 candidates wanting to join the idiot house just because they have more money than sense.
