There is part of me that thinks that every local councillor should be an independent.

Then voters would have to actually read what those councillors stand for, and why they want your vote.

Rather than voters merely voting for a colour, not a person.

I totally agree.

So a landslide for labour but interesting that Reform UK have taken third place in both polls

I think if Rishi the yank goes for the May election the tories might end up with less than 100 seats but that is looking favourite at the moment .

Maybe if this Tory government actually acted like a Tory government, then they might have a chance.

But does anyone know what this Tory government stands for? :-k

And another MP faces a recall petition this time the Blackpool south MP

I cannot remember a parliament in which so many MP's suffered this fate at this rate we won't need a general election we'll have so many by elections it will be a de facto general election !

Very interesting result from Rochdale last night.A landslide for Galloway with Lbour saying they would have won if they had a candidate they could support.
Independent coming second is encouraging because I may be standing as an Independent at the General election.

Come the general election Labour will get the seat back.

And there will be no independents in the House of Commons.

not so sure about that I think in the current climate voters are P''''d off with party politics and the greedy MP's taking huge payouts from lobby groups I would say now is the right time for some independants to get elected. I also think that we will soon start getting MP's representing religious groups or elected on an anti religious group mandate.
