Have to agree GA, it would have a massive effect on the Hack boys in Brighton. Dont know what happened in your part of the woods, but here the Hack and PH argue all the time, and as per usual people who dont know a taxi from a PH will make uneducated decisions.

If it's left up to market forces then very few operators would choose a wav simply because there are cheaper non wav vehicles available and these generally are far more appealing to customers even wheelchair users !!! I know of wheelchair bound customers who would rather transfer into the front seat of a car than be strapped into a wav in their chair !

I have run a wav for 8 years and am still the ONLY one in my area and to be honest wheelchair work is only a small fraction of my usual workload so where they get the figure of £150 for brighton from I don't know is half the population of Brighton disabled ? or are they expecting 150 wheelchair bound passengers to all want to travel at the same time ?

Edders most of the time these lobby groups don't know the differance between HC and PH and so demand increases in WAVs thinking it will apply to everyone.

They soon adopt a different attitude when you advice them that the PH sector of the trade doesn't have to comply with the DDA at all, and the HC side of the trade is introducing more vehicles annually to provide WAV HC's.

The brain dead on here won't admit it but we need HC regulation and PH WAV.

B. Lucky :D
