On 18th December I wrote an article on this forum which maligned and called into question the integrity of Mr B. Eaton and Mr N. Featham. The contents of this article were unfounded and caused concern and distress to both of these people.
I would like to publicly retract the accusations and apologise for any damage caused to their integrity either privately or professionally. At no time did they do anything that may be considered remotely underhand or illegal and have always acted with propriety.

Yes I bet they are saints and assist old people across the road, jump tall buildings with a single bound, act in a better manner than Mother Theresa, play cricket better than the English Cricket Team (okay I know), help the infirm, meek and poor, turn water into wine, feed 5000 people on a loaf of bread and a few scampi fries.

Or is that pushing it a bit?

We can all reflect on things we sometimes wish we hadn't said or done, however it takes a person of standing to apologise when they realise their comments might have been unjustified at the time they were written.

I would just like to say that your statement above has probably gained you many admirers.

Hear hear, i applaud you for your withdrawal.

But i can say it for you, they're both glove puppets with agenda's. I think i know who you are, and as such i understand why you withdrew your comments.
But these two inadequate morons without backbones, are spending public money on their own whims.
And if they'd like to contact me, to ask me to withdraw my comments, then they'll have to stand up before a magistrate and explain their actions over the past few months. (bet they wont!)

Geoff, since when have council officials had the power to spend public money without such funds first being sanctioned by elected councillors?

Officials can't just dip their hand in the pot and take out money without a policy first being agreed by the council, so if you can be a little more specific it might help?

They are sanctioned JD, its the way its done without consulting others. Like Bus marshals to protect their own people but stuff any others who make a living doing the same type of job. Or how about using money from the Police/Town center budget to fund the councils own enterprise because although a seperate company the council own something like 51% of it. It didnt go to tender afaik. There's lots more, which whilst it isnt illegal the same as above. Its they way it's done.
A prime example is the new bus station, they provide a rank but nowhere for anyone else to drop off, so they now say we can pick up and drop off at the rank (this would in effect block the enterance to it while we were parked there) It's just the way everything is done, without a thought for the people who clear the town of the idiots at 2am for them.

but of info
in december the drivers union was asked about the extra shifts and the union said NO let the taxi driver do there job and we will do ours.
so the driver that are working have been told because there doing it of there own back they will get no backup of the union if they have problems eg attacked or hurt or run someone over

the street where they are runing from is only bus stops not bus stands so they shouldt be waiting there at all

the street they are using has a bus company rule that they dont go down it after 7pm on a fri and sat night (rest of year) because its to dangerous but for some reason they think its safer over christmas
