Plate in Edinburgh 40K plus the cab   where do you get £20k?

60k is the very least you are going to spend.

Ask Torncasualty or Ross? Probably one in the same person  split personality and all that.

Your getting pretty low with these remarks, if you have any case at all behaving in such a manner is clearly stupid and says nothing about your character.

I dont have to spend jacksh*t, £20K is the price of a E7, of course by the time you pay for the optional extras like seats for passengers (pain in the as* but the LA do insist) you may pay a little more, but the point of the post was that the decision is a success for plate holders.

They can buy a cheaper new vehicle and rent it out at the same price. and get cheaper servicing and repairs.

We should send you guys to negotiate in Iraq, we really should

No Captain nothing low about it . I have seen and experienced what the Ross's of this World are really like.

Everyone's a good guy jumping on the high moral ground. Then when your back is turned or you are on the deck for whatever reason the boot comes in.

You are just another Ross and would do the same given the opportunity.

No one can claim that of me.

I don’t profess to be a Saint Ross nor do I feel the need to jump on the moral high ground to feel good about myself. I don’t need you to suffer Ross. It makes no difference to me either way. The most I feel is pity which is a little judgemental but unlike you I don’t claim to be perfect.

I have been fortunate enough to meet some really special people who need no pretence to hide behind. I know what they look like and would do them no harm under any circumstances. You just don’t happen to be one of them Ross.

You could not help yourself but take great satisfaction that I was unemployed. You now find yourself taking a wobbly and it’s my fault.

I don’t think so somehow.

Let me tell you a little story Ross.

I was in a spot of bother one night just off Lothian Road. Two drunken bruisers kicked my taxi for no reason whatsoever. I called in for assistance. I was lucky two drivers came to help me out. One of them was built like a pipe cleaner the other stocky and handy. Both of them seen my predicament and gave no quarter (blood and sh** everywhere) taxis were driving past like nothing was happening.

The moral of the story: Everyone out there is a hero until the chips are down. I wonder where you would have been Ross. :-|

In my bed sleeping.

Joking aside, Give me a good reason as to why I would want to stop and help someone, who in the past has likened me and the rest of the trade to something he stood in, mental defectives etc.......
And not forgetting someone who can assualt another taxi driver.

I hide behind nothing Garry. Most drivers who know me. know of my past health problems. I have even helped other drivers through theirs.
I draw the line at someone who finds mental health a joke.
How many taxi drivers in Edinburgh have taken thier lives because of a mental breakdown ? You and especially Ali-t should spend a day at Mackinnon house. maybe then you would think again.

Garry, I know personal things about you that I could ridicule you about., but I know where to draw the line so I don't Maybe you could teach your friend about taken the moral high ground

As to being unemployed, I was pointing to the fact that you where unemployable through no fault of your own.

One last thing, I only post as Ross

Ross I make no secret of my personal life. If anyone wants to know anything they need only ask. Nor do I care what people think one-way or the other. There is a certain honesty that goes beyond the thoughts of others. The problem you have Ross is your whole life is controlled by what people think. If your mental state was in question you should not be on this forum attacking Ali or I for being suspended or unemployed. Make no bones about it Ross you got a little high from that news and could not wait to let me know.

Now do yourself a favour Ross and forget the whole thing. The people around you don’t give a sh** what happens to you or your beloved trade. You are being manipulated by desperate people who themselves are being sacrificed as pawns in a bigger game. This is not about little taxi drivers this is about money. ComCab or the Council would put a pen through your existence in a heart beat if they thought it served their purpose. Your so called trade has no control over anything.

BTW It wasn’t that long ago the council were trying to take my licence because of my Diabetes. Do you think they would have hesitated given the chance? The only thing that saved me was the council tried it on to late. The legislation was in the process of changing to my benefit. It didn't stop them giving it a shot though.

Here’s another little point Ross. Who out there gives a shi* whether or not I can get a drive? Why because I have a different opinion about the trade and how it should be run? Why should it be down to others to decide whether or not I get to provide for my family because my views differ from theirs?

Ross know this, I would burn you lot at the stake given half the chance of getting away with it. You and the rest of that shi* give me the bile.

This is not about the trade it’s about cabbies controlling cabbies and living on ideas of grandeur. While taking it up the ar*** to keep the whole process going.

£40,000 for a plate you are having a fecking laugh. At the rate this trade is losing work you won't have a pot to pi** in.

Oh and you are different from me. Not a chance.

Wait until you can man your vehicles with a lot of cheap immigrant labour?

It'll be work for less or there's the door.

Sorry now I remember this is business and the likes of Ross topping himself would just be collateral damage.

Your not exactly endeering yourself to me here, you really shouldnt go down the route of lowering the tone by using such remarks.

Well here's the bad news the sooner they pull the plug the better. Then we will all get a chance to work in a free market.
